Humans are not designed to be solitary creatures. We were created to be in community with others, not just our families. We do better together. Why is this so?
I know from personal experience we do better around others. We feel safer, more supported, and less alone. Our friends are sometimes our greatest assets. They talk us off the ledge when we are too emotional to think straight. They support our decisions and are there when things don’t work out quite the way we had hoped. They celebrate with us and challenge us to reach for the stars.
When we’re alone, we don’t think as big. We don’t dream as big, and we take longer to come out of the bad seasons. Humans rely on each other to share different ways of thinking and different ideas. We become better people when we learn from each other and grow together. We keep each other on track and following the right path for us. We make each other more aware of human struggles and together we fight for better.
